Now that you've set up your DermEngine account, it's time to add your first patient. By adding patients, you will be able to store data in a centralized location and provide in-office or teleconsultation services to streamline your practice. To get started, follow the steps below:
- Select the Patients List option in the top menu bar.
- Select the Add Patient button.
- Here, you have the option of creating a new patient profile based off their First & Last Name or their Health ID. Note that in each scenario certain fields are required to be filled out to proceed:
First & Last Name: First Name, Last Name & Gender.
Health ID: Health ID & Gender.
If you enter their email address, you will be prompted to select whether you would like to invite this patient to have the ability to share and access their images. - You have the option of filling out additional information by clicking the Additional Information button in the bottom left corner.
- Here, you are able to fill out information such as patient address, phone number, or skin cancer history. When ready, click Create Patient.
- Select Add Patient from the main menu.
- You are able to create a patient based on their full name or Health ID:
Create A Patient via Full Name
- Select the Full Name tab, then enter the patient's First Name, Last Name, and Gender (required).
- Next, you are able to enter their Email, Health ID, Date of Birth, Ethnicity, Skin Type, Health History, and Phone Number (optional). Have Patient sign the Consent Form on the app (if they need to). Then, tap the Register Patient button.
Create a Patient via Health ID
- Select the Health ID # tab. You may enter the patient's First Name, Last Name, and Email (optional). Note that Health ID and Gender are required.
- If you enter the email, you will be prompted to select if you would like to invite this patient to share and access emails (the patient will receive an email invitation). Select Yes or No at your preference.
- Next, you are able to enter their Date of Birth, Ethnicity, Skin Type, Health History, and Phone Number (optional). Have Patient sign the Consent Form on the app (if they need to). When ready, tap the Register Patient button.
- Select Add Patient from the main menu.
