Where Does Visual Search Get Its Images From?

By integrating AI decision support tools into DermEngine, we have provided an accessible way for doctors to leverage additional educational information when making a diagnosis. Visual Search returns a mix of pre-labelled images from a large collection of multi-source dermatoscopic images of common pigmented skin lesions, all identified either following excision and pathological analysis or by clinical methods..

The dataset includes a representative collection of many important diagnostic categories in the realm of pigmented lesions. More than 50% of lesions have been confirmed by pathology, while the ground truth for the rest of the cases was either follow-up, expert consensus, or confirmation by in-vivo confocal microscopy.
