How Do I Create a Diagnosis Shortcut within DermEngine?

Within DermEngine, you can create Dx Shortcuts, which allow you to evaluate common diagnoses and management decisions instantly with one tap. Once created, Dx Shortcuts will be available on the "Add Clinical Diagnosis" form (web), "Telederm" workflow (web), and "SmartSnap/TBP" (app).

To create a Dx Shortcut, follow the instructions below:

  1. Click on your name from the top right menu and choose Account from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click the Dx Shortcuts button.
  3. Select the Add Shortcuts button.
  4. Add your Clinical Diagnosis Shortcut by filling out the fields. When ready, select "Add Shortcut". Note the option to create a shortcut for both "In Office" and "Telederm".

Optional features to enable via the toggle:

    1. Quick Submit - Quick Submit further enhances the Dx Shortcut. When deployed in the Clinical Diagnosis or Telederm workflow, it will automatically select submit for you, providing a more efficient workflow on the the web. If the Quick Submit is disabled on the Dx Shortcut, the pre-filled template will pre-populate and allow for a) amendments and b) require you to select submit at the bottom of the form manually.
    * To learn more about this feature, please refer to step 6

    2. Custom Spot Color
  5. Once created, the shortcut will appear on your shortcut list. Here, you have the option to:
    1) Edit Dx Shortcut
    2) Delete Dx Shortcut
    3) Disable/ Enable Dx Shortcut.
  6. Dx Shortcut is now available on the Clinical Diagnosis form (image 1), the Telederm submission page (image 2), and "SmartSnap/TBP" (image 3)

    Notable mentions:
    1. Quick Submit enabled () versus disabled. If the Quick Submit toggle was enabled in step 4, this is then identified through the lightning bolt graphic (e.g., SCC). If the Quick Submit was not enabled on the Dx Shortcut, this could be recognized with the label not having a lightning bolt graphic (e.g., BCC).
