How to use Diagnostic Shortcuts on the Mobile Application

This article will demonstrate how to utilize the Diagnostic (Dx) Shortcut on your smart device through multiple workflows. Dx Shortcuts will allow you to instantly, via one tap, add a diagnosis to a spot for common conditions to improve your workflow efficiency.

The workflows include:

1. SmartSnap

2. TBP Mapping

3. Spot Page on the phone

4. Push Notifications from the Web to the phone

To prepare you for this workflow:

1. Ensure you have already set up your Dx Shortcuts. Select this link to address those steps first

iPhone: SmartSnap

  1. Tap the Patient.
  2. Select SmartSnap.
  3. Take your dermoscopic image.
  4. Map the lesion on the 3D body map and tap Place. 
  5. Tap Dx.
  6. Your selection of Dx Shortcuts will appear. Tap the appropriate Diagnosis.

    Notable Mentions:
    Quick Submit- Quick Submit further enhances the Dx Shortcut. When deployed, it will automatically submit and record the diagnosis for you, providing a more efficient workflow.
  7. The template will populate with your pre-filled fields for the selected diagnosis. Tap Submit Diagnosis.
  8. Your Diagnosis has been added. 
  9. You will note that a Dx will be noted from the patient's spot page.

iPhone: TBP Mapping


  1. Tap the patient.
  2. Tap the TBP icon.
  3. Tap the body part with the TBP image.
  4. Tap the image.


  5. Tap the lesion detection icon.
  6. Tap the lesion you want to take a dermoscopic image and tap next.
  7. Take your image.
  8. Map your lesion on the 3D body mannikin and tap place.
  9. Tap the Dx icon.
  10. Tap the appropriate diagnosis.

    Notable Mentions:
    Quick Submit- Quick Submit further enhances the Dx Shortcut. When enabled, it will automatically submit and record the diagnosis for you without showing the preview of a diagnosis, providing a more efficient workflow.

  11. The template will populate with your pre-filled fields for the selected diagnosis. Tap Submit Diagnosis.
  12. A notification in green will appear at the top of the screen confirming the diagnosis was added to the spot. Tap Done
  13. The image will now have a red circle around the lesion which was photographed. Tap the red circle to bring up the spot profile at the bottom right of the screen.
  14. The spot profile will now have the diagnosis detailed.

iPhone: Spot Page


  1. Tap the patient.
  2. Tap the spot folder. 
  3. Tap the dermoscopic icon.
  4. Tap the camera icon to take your dermoscopic image. 
  5. Tap to save the image.
  6. Tap the DermDx icon.
  7. Tap the appropriate diagnosis.

  1. From the spot page on the web, select take image on the app.
  2. You will receive an alert to your phone, tap take image. 
  3. Tap the camera icon to take your image.
  4. Tap to save the image.
  5. Tap the Dx icon. 
  6. Tap the appropriate diagnosis.
