How Do I Add, Upload and Take Images?

Once you have created a spot, it's time to upload or take images. With DermEngine, you are able to upload images four different ways: from your Computer, Quick Snap, Camera or via a Push Notification.
 
To add images to a patient's spot, follow the instructions below:

  1. Click the Patients button from the top menu bar. Then, select an existing patient from your Patient List or create a new patient profile.

  2. Locate the spot you wish to add images to from the Spot List on the left side. To learn how to add a spot, click here

  3. Click the Upload Image button to upload overview and dermoscopic images with one of four methods.

Option 1: From your computer

  • Select the Upload tab. Add PDF Files, Overview or Dermoscopic Image(s) then select Add to upload.

Option 2: From Quick Snap

  • Click the From Quick Snap tab. Choose any photos you would like to upload, and select whether they are Overview or Dermoscopic then click Add.

Option 3: From Camera

  • Select the From Camera tab. Choose which camera you would like to use from your computer. Capture any images you wish to take and click Done.

Option 4: Push Notification

  • From the patient spot page or TBP image page, select 'Take Image on App'
  • You will receive a notification to your phone. Tap 'Take Image'
  • Proceed to take your dermoscopic and overview images. 

iOS

  1. Select a Patient.


  2. Select the  icon

  3. Place the mole on the Body Map and tap Next.
  4. Add Overview and Dermoscopic Image(s) through one of the following options:

Adding Overview Images

  1. From your patient's profile, you can add overview images by selecting the phone icon. If you prefer taking dermoscopic images first, please scroll down to option 2. If an overview image already exists, the app will proceed to open up the image. 
  2. Here, you have the option of capturing images directly with your camera or from your phone's library. To capture an image, tap the "camera" icon. You will notice a second camera icon on the screen, which can be dragged around based on your preference.

    Alternatively, to retrieve a previously taken image, tap the Library icon and select your desired image.
  3. If the image is blurry, you have the option to retake the image or tap that the image is not blurry. To learn more about Blurriness detection, please refer to this link
  4. When your image is not blurry, the image will automatically save to the Overview tile. You can then tap the overview tile to see the spot gallery.

Option 2: Adding Dermoscopic Images

  1. To add dermoscopic images, tap the dermoscope icon in the bottom right corner.


  2. Ensure your MoleScope or other mobile dermoscope is securely attached to your phone. To capture a new image, tap the camera icon. You will notice a second camera icon on the screen, which can be tapped and dragged around based on your preference.

    Alternatively, tap the Library icon to retrieve a previously taken dermoscopic image from your phone's gallery.

  3. If the image is blurry, you have the option to retake the image or tap that the image is not blurry. To learn more about Blurriness detection, please refer to this link
  4. You are then prompted to crop the image.
  5. To view the spot gallery, select the dermoscopic tile. 
  6. See the sample spot gallery below.

Android

  1. Select a Patient.


  2. Select the  icon


  3. Place the mole on the Body Map and tap Next.
  4. Add Overview and Dermoscopic Image(s) through one of the following options:

  6. You will have the option of cropping the photo, or retaking the image by selecting the camera icon. When ready tap the check mark.
