How Do I Annotate An Image?

The Image Annotation feature allows users to add and save annotations to images uploaded in DermEngine and send the annotated images to colleagues for a second opinion. Users can highlight sections of the image by drawing arrows and shapes.

  1. Click the Patients button from the top menu bar then select the patient you wish to annotate an image for.

  2. Select a spot from the Spot List.

  3. Drag and drop the dermoscopic image you wish to annotate into the viewing panes.

  4. Then, click themceclip1.png button to view the image in full screen mode.

  5. Add annotations by using the icons in the right of the image. Following image details are displayed to the left of the image: Uploaded by, Upload Date, Last Annotated By and Annotation Date.

  1. Select the Patients List.

  2. Select a Patient.

  3. Select the spot you wish to evaluate.


  4. Select the image you would like to annotate.



  5. Select the icon to edit.

  6. Add any annotations by using the  icon to draw. To change the color of your annotations, select . Additionally, you are able to add colored circles by selecting the . Once complete, click Save.

    To view the annotation or to hide it, tap on the image.
