How Do I Set Up Two-Factor Authentication?

DermEngine offers two-factor authentication as an extra layer of security to protect all data related to your account. Two-factor authentication can be enabled at any time using either SMS or Google Authenticator to add your security key. To learn how to set this up follow the instructions below:

Text (SMS) Message

1. Select your profile in the top right corner and click Account from the drop-down menu.
   
2. Select Account Security from the left side menu, then click the Enable button under "Enable SMS for authentication".
   
3. Enter your number and click Send Text.
    
4. Enter the 6-digit code you receive via text into the space provided and click Confirm.
   
5. A notification will appear letting you know the setup process is complete while providing you with an emergency backup code. Copy or download this code somewhere safe, as it can be used to bypass the two-step authentication process if necessary.
   From now on, whenever you sign in to your account, you’ll need to enter both your password and also an authentication code sent to your mobile phone.

Google Authenticator

1. Select your profile in the top right corner and click Account from the drop-down menu.
   
2. Select Account Security from the left side menu, then click the Enable button under "Enable Google Authenticator for authentication".
   
3. Download the Google Authenticator app from the App Store or Google Play and scan the code with your phone using the app, then click Next.
   
4. Add your DermEngine account on the Google Authenticator App.
   
5. Enter the code listed on the app into DermEngine. (Note that this code is constantly changing and must be checked anytime you wish to log in). 
   
6. Click confirm to complete.
